How wonderful to be the man
That you love me to be
Who makes you melt like chocolate fudge
The man you’ve made me see
So strong and full of courage
Like the world’s in my hand
And I have power o’er everything
To make your heart feel glad

But sometimes

I want to be pretty one
To be the one who’s twirled
And feel your fingers through my hair
Protected from the world
To run to you and just be held
‘Til all my fears have fled
Hear loving words you whisper
Softly sing inside my head

So let me be the pretty one
Just once every while
It will be our secret
And it will make us smile
And feel like Father made the world
So we could feel like this—
A feeling, you, my pretty one
Convey in your sweet kiss

Well written, easy to understand, and it goes beyond the couple to demonstrate the other great love in your life: The love of the Father.

On the side about the above posters comments: Never take it on board that it's always about women being selfish with emotions though... In our society, it's just more acceptable in relationships for women to talk about emotions, wheras in men it's weakness. A lot of women and men just assume the emotional roles, and don't openly broach the subject of a need for another way.

And in closing, why keep such emotions that the Father gave you a secret? ;) You two should be rejoycing in them. ^_^

Wow thanks! You're absolutely right: this one isn't about women being selfish. It's really guy-breaks-societal-norms-by-sharing-feelings.

And the "secret" thing: yea, the word's there kinda for drama (this whole poem is, in fact, since it sounds like there's something lacking) but even so, it's just kinda like, "And I don't want the world to see me / 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand" etc., w/e.
